We are looking for a Head of IT Operating Model, Information Management (IM) to join our team! The IT Operating Model Lead is responsible for owning, designing, and evolving the IT function’s operating model to ensure it effectively supports business objectives, aligns with strategic priorities, and enables operational efficiency. This role leads the planning, development, and continuous improvement of how IT is structured, governed, and delivered across the organization.

We are looking for a seasoned IT management professional and leader who can build his/her network within the organization, lead and facilitate various design and implementation activities spanning from process details to structural changes. You bring clarity and sense. The location for this position is Wärtsilä Campus in Salmisaari, Helsinki, Finland. We work in hybrid mode.

Your role and responsibilities 

• Own and evolve the IT operating model, ensuring it reflects the organization’s goals, priorities, and capabilities

• Define and maintain the structure of IT processes, roles & responsibilities, governance, service delivery, sourcing, competence management and performance management

• Collaborate with senior IT and business leaders to align the IT function’s ways of working with enterprise-wide transformation goals.

• Lead operating model assessments and identify improvement opportunities in organization design, processes, and capabilities

• Plan and manage the development of the IT operating model, including roadmaps and change initiatives, in collaboration with the heads of various units

• Establish governance frameworks, performance metrics, and decision-making structures that support an effective and agile IT function

• Support capability building within the IT organization, including competence development, and role descriptions

• Monitor trends and best practices in IT operating models, sourcing, and service delivery to inform future-state design

• Act as a change leader, engaging stakeholders and managing impacts related to changes in operating model structure or processes

To succeed in this role, you need to have:

• Proven experience in IT strategy, operating model design and implementation in large & complex corporate environment

• Strong understanding of IT organizational structures, governance, and various process

• Experience managing cross-functional change initiatives and navigating complex stakeholder landscapes

• Excellent planning, facilitation, and communication skills. You can make your own slides

• Strategic thinking and the ability to translate vision into operational execution

• Background in consulting, transformation, or enterprise IT management is a must

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, or a related field; Master's degree is a plus
