Information Architect

We are now looking for an Information Architect with a drive to identify and leverage opportunities to improve UPM’s information landscape. The position is located in Helsinki or in Tampere, Finland.

What you’ll do

Your role is critical in promoting data driven business culture and implementing Digi, Data & AI strategy. You will be working as part of Analytics and Decision Science team together with other data and analytics professionals, and with a wide variety of different stakeholders ranging from UPM Finance & Control to Data Management Office in IT and AI transformations. You will play a key role in our journey to become a data driven organization.

In this position, you’ll be

• Proactively identifying and prioritizing opportunities to enhance information consumption in UPM Finance & Control organization.
• Identifying essential business entities, building, and leading information modelling aligned with UPM level practices, guidelines, and frameworks.
• Driving forward a common understanding of data by building conceptual and logical information models to improve reusability of data solutions.
• Developing and applying relevant tools, methods, and frameworks for enabling UPM Finance & Control become more data driven.
• Developing rules and policies for data consumption and deploy data governance and data management practices.
• Working within UPM Finance & Control data domain and co-operating with Information Architects across UPM to drive common understanding of data for enhanced data consumption.
• Collaborating with a variety of project stakeholders to develop data definitions and documentation relevant to Finance & Control and aligned with enterprise level information model.

Who you are

• You have master’s degree in information science, knowledge management, or equivalent professional experience.
• At least three years of hands-on experience in conceptual modeling
• Expertise and practical experience in implementation of data governance and data management practices, and data solution development
• Experience in enhancing information consumption to produce insights in a self-service context.
• Ability to lead information modelling in close collaboration with relevant stakeholders.
• Outstanding collaboration skills with a variety of stakeholders across business and technical organizations
• Excellent skills in networking and influencing, and an ability to explain complex concepts to wide variety of stakeholders.
• Proven ability to facilitate discussions, workshops, and training sessions necessary to grow organizational data maturity.
• Previous experience in publicly listed international enterprise.
• You have proven skills in project and change management.
• You are experienced in agile development.
• Previous work experience in Finance & Control domain is preferred.
• Fluency in English
