About the role

We are looking for an experienced Data Engineer to support EDRMedeso’s transition into data driven company where decisions are made based on data. Your task is to ensure that the right data is available at the right time for the right people. You do that by actively engaging with the management, connecting the business needs to the opportunities of the fast-moving technology scene around us. You stay current with trends and bring creative insights how to develop our data infrastructure and data strategy to the next level to serve the needs of our company’s operational efficiency, for example by enabling and supporting management and organization to take right data-based decisions but also sales and marketing functions with business intelligence data.

In this role, you will also have the opportunity to participate and lead internal projects beyond data-focused themes. We hope to find someone who can help us evaluate new technological opportunities and support our organization in areas such as utilizing AI. Your role will extend multidimensionally beyond just data-related tasks.

This position reports to the CDO, and the location is negotiable. We prefer if you are near one of our offices in Finland or Sweden, specifically Tampere, Gothenburg, or Västeras. Some traveling may be required to other EDRMedeso offices.

The ideal candidate for this position will have excellent verbal and written communication skills, and consultative approach with the stakeholders. As a person, you are results and business-oriented and motivated by achieving both personal and team goals. We hope you can orchestrate your surroundings to collaboratively work towards common goals, demonstrating effective abilities both independently and as part of a team. You also have full working proficiency in English.

The valued experience we hope you bring:

• Proven experience in a Data Engineer role
• Strong proficiency in Azure data services (e.g.,Azure Data Factory, Azure SQL Server, Azure Functions),
• Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or Bicep
• Proficiency in Python and SQL for developing data models and transformation pipelines
• Practical experience with dbt in developing data models and implementing data transformation processies
• Familiarity with CI/CD workflows (e.g. GitHub Actions, Azure DevOps, GitLab CI/CD)
• Background in designing and implementing Azure-based infrastructure (IAM, networking, databases, Azure Functions, VMs)
• A collaborative mindset and ability to work closely with teams to enable data-driven decision-making
• Interest in supporting and exploring AI/ML initiatives
• Experience leading internal projects beyond data, including evaluating and implementing new technologies
